Adolescence and young adulthood represent a vulnerable developmental period for health outcomes. Adolescents and young adults (AYA) living with HIV perform poorly across the entire continuum of HIV care relative to older adults, and these outcomes are further challenged upon transition to new care settings. Utilizing adolescent-friendly tools to promoting autonomy for disease self-management may aid in the navigation complex health systems for the care of chronic disease. Further, resources to assist providers in promoting adolescent-friendly care may promote enhanced HIV care outcomes. The Adolescent and Young Adult HIV Toolkit provides a series of brief (<5 minute), animated, youth-friendly videos addressing important topics in HIV care. Share this with your young clients to introduce or reinforce important topics.
